Achan Ossem, “Uncle Ossem”, of the House of Uzalah
He is the cunning, evil leader of the R.A.D. (Revolution Against Disintia) revolution and weilds the real power over the country. He keeps track of his nephew and controls him politically by hiding him in the desert.
Vidad
A slave, bought at birth to be the bodyguard of Susewjot. He is completely loyal and would die for his young master. Through his rigorous training, he is a master of hand-to-hand combat and weapon systems.
Sabbarab Ossem, of the House of Uzalah
The jealous older cousin and son of Uncle Ossem; he begged his way onto the party and resents the attention given to the chosen one and his family.
Lightning
"Lightning" becomes a captive after her airship is shot down by Susewjot’s holy missile. In a chance encounter with Susewjot, she begins to haunt his dreams and he later rescues her out of slavery and marries her to the utter shock and horror of Uncle Ossem and his first wife.
Jokuehl Rezon, of the House of Ebronah
He the life-long friend of Susewjot and son of a rich trader family; He is the driver of the party and can maneuver almost any vehicle. A gifted natural mechanical engineer, he often invents new gadgets that find a way of getting the party out of trouble.
Regem Bojac, of the House of Elizus
He is a fierce tribesman and has a complete, blind loyalty to the cause. Through Bojac’s connections, Uncle Ossem is able to control even the furthest regions of the country. Bojac’s penchant for brutality is legendary; he is not one to cross.
Zarah Adbele, of the House of Uzalah
Susewjot’s arranged marriage wife; she was betrothed to him while she was sixteen years of age when Susewjot was still an infant. She lives in their palatial estate in the N.Ecuadorian capital of Sandess.
Gaius Jakim
Man Wool factories owner (wool made from hair of man). He lives in a huge mansion in the middle of Katiak and is the unofficial “Don” of the town.
Sons of Jakim, Rekab and Alyosha
Rekab, the elder son, wishes desperately to follow in his father's footsteps and take the everlasting fight to the occupational force of the Disintians. The younger son, Alyosha, wishes only peace.

Leader of the High Senate of Disintia. A ruthless and cunning leader who controls the back avenues of information and power.
General Hopsh, Disintia
Disintian Ground Forces Commander; a brilliant battlefield strategist with a long, storied career. Although he is ruthless on the battlefield, General Hopsch has always championed ceasefires and diplomatic solutions to the two nations' problems.
